Lower Level

ALWAYS READ THE MANUAL AND FOLLOW DIRECTIONS BEFORE OPERATING!
A list you should check and go over before operating your model.

1) Make sure all the screws are tight, chassis, wheels, etc. You can use loctite glue to secure the screws. There is a few different types of loctite. I recommend using the kind that is not permanent.

2) Charge all your batteries before you run your model. Do not charge batteries overnite or leave charging batteries unattended. It is better to be safe than sorry.

3) Check your receiver and transmitter to make sure it is binded correctly.

4) Make sure your batteries and receiver is properly connected. Your connections should fit snug together and be tucked in the case so they are not hanging out or falling out of your model.

5) If your using a failsafe, be sure to check and make sure it is working. You don’t want to chase a runaway or have to repair the model if it becomes damaged.

6) Always turn on the transmitter first, then turn on the model. When powering down turn off the model first and then the transmitter. 7) Make sure all the servos are working properly.

Nitro vehicles – use 20% Nitro Fuel. 8 tanks for breakin on most nitro engines.

Gas vehicles – make sure your fuel mixture is 25:1 for break in, then you can use 32:1 but retune

If your running nitro or gas models, check your glow plugs, spark plugs and air filters. Use fresh fuel and enjoy!

AFTERRUN CARE
After you power down your model, disconnect the battery. Let it cool off for a good 15 minutes. This will give the motor and battery time to cool off. If your model is wet, Make sure you dry it off. You can use your aircompressor, hair dryer or shopvac. If your running a nitro model, put your flywheel at bdc. (bottom dead center) You will want to remove your glow plug and put in a few drops of afterrun oil. Keep your airfilter clean. Use soap and water to wash it off anytime. Apply air filter oil to the air filter. You can put the air filter in a plastic baggy, drop a few drops of oil onto the filter. Then massage the oil into the filter. The baggy will keep the oil from getting on your fingers.

CLEANING TASKS
Do not get any of the electronics wet. A few good accessories to get for cleaning off your models: Spray bottle, Water, Tooth Brush, Paper Towels, Shammy, Simply Green
If you keep your model clean and well taken care of, it will last you a very long time. It will also operate and function much better and longer.

Batteries & Chargers
You will want to invest in a battery charger that will work best for you and your platforms. The most common rechargeable batteries you will be using with most of your rc models are: Nihm, Nicd, Lipo. If your going to be using more than one of these types of batteries, I suggest a multi battey charger capable of charging these different types of rechargeable batteries. Here is some tips for safe battery storage and charging. Never leave batteries that are charging unatended. Make sure the batteries your using are in good condition and not falling apart, etc. Check the battery lead to make sure it is not cut or disconnected from the battery in any way shape or form. When connecting your batteries to the charger, make sure they are set to charge on the proper settings. Never charge batteries inside the model or on the carpet. You should have a clean space set up for battery charging. I suggest a clay pot full of sand to avoid any fires. Do not over charge your batteries and make sure they are ballanced. Batteries will last longer and perform better if they are properly discharged and balanced. Do not store batteries in direct sunlight or heat. You can use a metal tin with lid to store your batteries in safely.

Battery Recycle & Disposal
Always recycle your batteries if there is a program in your neighborhood. Make sure the batteries are discharged and disposed of properly. Batteries can start a fire so make sure to read the directions and keep them stored when not in use.

FPV
You do not need to have a bunch of equipment in order to achieve fpv. Simply get yourself a small hd camera capable of being mounted onto your rc model. Record your session and save it to your harddrive afterwords. You can share your files on YouTube very simply. Sure enough, you can buy a system that will upload the link to the internet in real time on the computer but it can be quite expensive and is not necessary.

LIGHT KITS
You will want to get yourself a solder pen to wire your lights. You can wrap the wires in plastic and secure them with tape and zip ties to protect any wires from getting wet or dirty. You can also thread your wires through fuel tubing in order to protect the wiring for those of you running lights on models that fly or race. Wires can be threaded through foam as well which can be glued to your body, this will hold everything in place with ease and cushion the lights from any impact. Light kits can be merged together and run to a single power source so your not drawing power off your main battery supply. You can also run the wires to an on/off switch to your single power supply as well.

TAG YOUR MODEL
Simply print out a sticker with your information on it and place it in the receiver case or battery tray. If you can not print one out, find a plain sticker to write on. By tagging your rc, you can prove ownership incase of runaway, theft or even just telling your model from someone else’s.
